Firefox lock-in

I want to give Google Chrome a fair try. Lots of geeky friends say it is better, faster, but it never seems to work out for me.

Decided again to try Google Chrome for work (doing web page development) as Firefox had been doing a go slow on some website or other for no discernible reason. It lasted about 15 minutes, turns out the Google Chrome plug-in for the password manager I use doesn’t support the pop-up dialogues used by Basic access authentication or Digest access authentication. It may seem a minor thing but we use Digest access authentication extensively in-house.

Surprising how quickly we can be locked-in to ways of doing things. I’m sure there are password managers that support Chrome better but I don’t want the inconvenience of switching. At least this time with Chrome I didn’t hit any new bugs.
