Took advantage of the boiler scrappage scheme to get £400 off the price of a new boiler.

Installation of the new gas boiler was done by Cygnet Heating. Cygnet heating are based in Woodbury, East Devon, and were efficient, friendly, and tidy.

I initially contacted all the Gas Safe registered installers listed as within a few miles of home, Jon was one of the first to reply, correctly ascertained I might be entitled to the scrappage scheme (several said I wouldn’t be, the scrappage scheme website was self-contradictory for the type of boiler we had).

New boiler is a Valliant ecoTEC 837 and it is quieter, and produces hot water quicker, be interesting to see if it does make a noticeable difference to the gas bill.
